The invention of fire in the Stone Age was a major invention, as it gave people life (almost). But some people say that the invention of mobile phones and other devices was as good as the invention of fire, if not worse. So how is this true, if mobile phones can do over 100 things, but fire... well, we don't even use fire that much any more!

The question arises as two of my friends were asked by the GP's at their respective surgeries to photograph their skin complaints and send the picture to the GP for assessment . One friend was OK as she was au fait with modern technology and had a smart phone and the other did not. This caused a lot of stress for my friend as she couldn't fulfil the request despite the receptionist trying to coach her for twenty minutes. The irony was that she could have gone to the surgery and got back home in ten minutes. The matter is a yet unresolved.
