You will probably notice that when you visit the site or visit the app that when one video finishes on YouTube, the next one will automatically play. Although there is an option to turn it off, why is this featureset to be on?
In short: money. Ads play on YouTube videos (and the site), and so when the next video plays more ads play. But here's the catch: even if the video only plays for less than 1 second, the advertisers still need to pay. It's like the slave labour of the internet.
